short home

Sheetal Chhaya was adjudged an ‘Outstanding Home’ in 1988 by the Directorate of Social Welfare, Delhi Administration

Nurturing the “Girl Child” has been a mission with us at ASHI HQs and a major step in this direction has been establishing a home called ‘Sheetal Chhaya’ in the year 1978 with the aim of providing a shelter for homeless, minor girls who were deprived of love and affection. Besides providing a safe, secure place to stay, Sheetal Chhaya fulfils their emotional needs, takes care of their education, provides an overall stimulating environment and equips them with life skills and vocational training so that they can grow up to be confident individuals with identities of their own.

With passage of time, the infrastructure of the ‘Home’ deteriorated and the building became structurally unsafe. It had to be closed down for such time that it could be rebuilt. We are now in the process of rebuilding the same. Work is being carried out in a major way to ensure safety and durability. We are targeting to complete the reconstruction in the next few months and are making sincere efforts to muster the required funds so as to restart the home at the earliest. To meet the expenses, we request you to kindly come forward and donate generously in cash or kind ( material like cement, steel, bricks and other building material) towards this noble endeavour.
